Sprint Cup Driver Aric Almirola Wins BLT Contest at Food City in Hixson

Hixson, TN-(WDEF) It’s not everyday you go to the grocery store and see a Sprint Cup Car parked out front.
But at the Food City in Hixson on Tuesday, there was Aric Almirola’s 43 car.
Almirola was in town to promote next April’s Food City 500 at Bristol.
Since Smithfield Bacon is one of his sponsor’s, Almirola took part in a BLT sandwich making contest.
Of course he won, making sixteen in two minutes.
Almirola expects the competition to be gritty on the track this year, especially at Bristol.
Said Almirola,”I think you are going to see a lot of wild racing this year with this new down force package. I think you are going to see a lot of side-by-side racing. Bristol being as challenging and as tough as it is, it’s one that every driver wants to win at because it’s Bristol. It’s Bristol baby, right? So yeah, it’s a really cool place to win at.”
