Inmate’s wild ride during Alabama escape attempt

GADSDEN, Alabama (WDEF) — A jail inmate in Gadsden, Alabama made a wild bid for freedom on Thursday.

Jason Boyd was being transported back to jail from a hearing at municipal court.

But during the drop-off, he managed to jump into a Gadsden Police vehicle and drive through the sally port gate of the jail.

The escape didn’t last long.

He led police on a chase for about three blocks before being recaptured.
