Chattanooga man arrested for possessing assault rifle and marijuana
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police arrest a man for having marijuana for resale and unlawful possession of an assault rifle.
Police responded to the 1600 block of E 12th St. because of reports about a suspicious person walking in the area with a gun.
Police found a large group of individuals in the street and called for backup.
Officers identified the man with the gun as 22-year-old Marcus Brooks. He was arrested on March 9th, March 10th is his birthday. He admitted to having marijuana in his pockets after police noticed he smelled strongly of the drug. Officers found more pot in Brooks’ Dodge Durango.
Police also found an SKS Assault Rifle with a loaded 30 round magazine.
Brooks was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
