Teen charged with bringing handgun to Walker County schools
LAFAYETTE, Georgia (WDEF) – The Walker County Sheriff says a teenager has been charged with bringing an unloaded gun to a pair of schools.
Sheriff Steve Wilson says it happened on Wednesday.
A 14 year old former student at Chattanooga Valley Middle has been charged with bringing the handgun to campus and with making a terroristic threat.
The threat involved a school administrator.
Investigators say the boy brought the gun to the Middle School, then at 4 PM, got on a bus for an after-school activity at Ridgeland High School.
That’s when a Middle School administrator heard about the gun and called the High School.
They searched him and found the 9mm handgun.
He is being held at a regional youth detention center.
