Former East Ridge Coach Tracy Malone Named Head Coach at Whitwell

Former East Ridge high school football coach Tracy Malone has been named the new head coach at Whitwell.
Malone replaces R.C. Helton, who left the Tigers program after two seasons. Helton led Whitwell last year to their first playoff victory since 2004.
Malone enjoyed plenty of success last year at East Ridge.
He guided the Pioneers to a school record 12 wins. East Ridge finished 12-1, falling to Notre Dame in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs.
Malone abruptly resigned at East Ridge back in February after a fight broke out between two students in the weight room, where he was in charge of the supervision.
