Hiker Rescue at Rainbow Lake
SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF)- First responders in Hamilton County have been working for hours to carry out an injured hiker on a hiking trail.
Multiple agencies have responded to the scene at Rainbow lake.
First responders on scene say that the hiker was one mile on a hiking trail suffering from an ankle injury.
They are trying to secure the hikers foot and carry him out.
Due to steep and rough trails and high heat, responders have been working for more than six hours to complete the rescue.
They expect it to continue for several more hours.
