Former Tennessee Senator Ward Crutchfield Passes Away
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Former Tennessee Senator Ward Crutchfield has passed away.
Crutchfield was involved in one of the largest bribery and public corruption stings in recent years.
The undercover investigation known as the Tennessee Waltz was set up by the FBI.
Crutchfield pleaded guilty to accepting three-thousand dollars in the sting.
A judge sentenced the former Chattanooga lawmaker to two-years of probation and six-months of home confinement.
According to his wife, Cutchfield died Sunday at a Chattanooga hospital.
He was 87.
