CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Fire Department responded yesterday to a tent fire near the Lupton City area.
The call came in around 2:30 Friday afternoon. Once they arrived on the scene at 912 Dixie Circle, firefighters could several tents, a shed, and other items located in a wooded lot that were fully engulfed in flames.
Crews were able to get the blaze under control in roughly 10 minutes.
Officials report that an adult male told firefighters that he was sleeping on a couch in the lot when the fire broke out, and tried to put the fire out with a garden hose.
