Sheriff: Escaped inmates from Mississippi fled to Alabama
BOONEVILLE, Miss. (AP) – Authorities in northern Mississippi say one of three men they say escaped from a county jail has been captured in Alabama.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports that the men are accused of escaping from the Prentiss County Jail early Thursday morning.
Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar said Mark Lindsey was captured early Thursday afternoon near Cherokee, Alabama.
Tolar said the other two inmates are believed to be in northwest Alabama.
