Officials identify woman killed in house fire

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga fire officials have identified the victim in last Thursday’s fire on Durham Drive.

She was 83 year old Johnnye McDavid.

The Medical Examiner ruled that she died from smoke inhalation.

Her husband, Charles, was treated for minor burns from the fire.

The cause has been ruled accidental.

Investigators believe it sparked from an electrical malfunction.

This is the city’s third fire fatality this year.
