Escaped inmate apprehended in Walker County

WALKER COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – Walker County Sheriff’s Office authorities have apprehended and captured a man they say walked away from work detail in Rock Spring.

Randy Barfield Jr., 26, was apprehended and taken back into custody shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to an area where they believed Barfield was hiding.

Authorities were able to locate Barfield in a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Barfield was taken into custody after he tried to flee on foot, and was transported to the Walker County Jail where he faces additional charges for escape.
