Police: Father, son kidnapped and robbed shoot suspect

LITHONIA, Ga. (AP) – Police say a person was shot and killed after forcing a father and son to a Georgia bank at gunpoint.

DeKalb County police Lt. Shane Stanfield tells local media that a man broke into the father and son’s apartment around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and forced them to drive to an ATM machine at a SunTrust Bank in Lithonia.

Stanfield says one of the two kidnapped victims likely fired the shot, killing the robber with his own gun.

Further information hasn’t been released. The investigation is ongoing.
