Brent Marsh returns home after being released

Ray Brent Marsh pleaded guilty in 2004 to various charges, including theft by deception and abusing a corpse after the bodies of 339 people were found scattered across his crematory property in Noble, Georgia. After serving his full sentence, today Marsh was released and returned home…..

In all factors, he should have been out years ago”

Brent’s attorney, McCracken Poston, says that even though today is a joyous day, he believes that his client should have been given parole years ago ….. But he also says Marsh has never once complained….

Brent could have been sentenced to thousands of years, but he took a plea deal that gave him a 12-year sentence after the bodies of over 300 people were found scattered across his property….

Marsh, who came from a respected family in Walker County, returned home to Georgia today, 12 years later and while some in the community may not have forgiven Marsh yet, his lawyer thinks his client’s release is a test of the Christian theology of forgiveness.

Marsh, now on probation was given a list of special conditions that he will be expected to follow, one of which telling him that he will need to find a new job.

“Ridiculously in this he is never to operate a creamatory again and I thought that was a waste of breath and ink.”

One of the other conditions includes a hand written letter of apology to the families…. and if Marsh does ever profit from the crime through a book deal or any form, he will owe the state of Georgia 8 million dollars…

“The other conditions are just live a good life and of all the clients I ever had I have the least concern about this client living a good life and behaving himself.”

Marsh declined to comment on camera and the last time we saw him, he was walking down his street smiling at friends and family…..
