Smokies Snap Lookouts 8 Game Winning Streak

(lookouts.com) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Yasiel Balaguert doubled and singled, and Preston Morrison allowed just three hits over six innings as the Tennessee Smokies defeated the Chattanooga Lookouts 2-1 on Thursday, snapping the Lookouts 8-game winning streak.

Dillon Maples struck T.J. White out with runners on second and third to end the game for his fourth save of the season.

Morrison (1-7) picked up the win after he struck out seven while allowing one run.

Tennessee got on the board first in the fourth inning when Jason Vosler hit a solo home run and Trey Martin hit an RBI single.

Chattanooga answered in the bottom of the inning when Jonathan Rodriguez hit an RBI single, scoring LaMonte Wade to get within one.

Fernando Romero (7-6) went five innings, allowing two runs and six hits in the Southern League game. He also struck out seven and walked one.

For the Lookouts, Wade doubled and singled.
