Arrest made after shooting on Tunnel Blvd

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Early Saturday evening the Chattanooga Police Department responded to reports of two individuals shot in the 1500 block of Tunnel Boulevard.

Police have  arrested 26 year old Deonta Byrd for Aggravated Assault and Felony Reckless Endangerment in connection to the shooting.

Police say a fight broke out between Damieon Coonrod, 24, and Deonta Byrd.

During the fight, Byrd fired a gun multiple times, striking Coonrod and 42 year old Cornelia Walker.

Coonrod was hit three times in the left leg and once in the buttocks, while Walker was struck only once in the left leg.

Both were transported  to a local hospital for treatment.
