Chattanoogans Protest Police Brutality

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – Hundreds of locals are protesting police brutality with a peaceful demonstration.

This afternoon locals gathered at Coolidge Park, to march across the Walnut street bridge and into downtown Chattanooga. The protest was organized Saturday evening after videos went viral last week, showing two black men being killed at the hands of police officers.

“It shows that everyone is starting to see what’s going on and out here,” said local resident Marshall Matthews, “You see it’s not just black people, it’s white people, it’s Mexicans, it’s Latinos–any type of race coming out here, because we all know what’s at stake.”

Several protests were also held throughout the Country in cities like,  Memphis, Baton Rouge, and Minneapolis.
