Bradley County holding Dallas police memorial & Unity Walk
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – Bradley County is holding a day long tribute on Tuesday to the fallen police officers in Dallas.
It begins at midnight, when a 24 hour honor guard will stand in tribute at a memorial being put together at the Bradley County Courthouse.
The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging the public to visit the memorial on Tuesday and drop off “personal reflections” that will be sent to the police agencies of the five fallen officers.
They are also asking the public to join them in a “Unity Walk” Tuesday afternoon from Johnston Park, down Ocoee Street, to the Courthouse.
The walk begins at 3 PM.
Sheriff Eric Watson says “It’s vitally important the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office continues to have the support of the Cleveland/Bradley County community. The “Unity Walk” will commemorate the ultimate sacrifice the five officers paid while protecting their community, while also symbolizing the unity between the Bradley County Sheriff Office and the community we protect and serve daily.”
