Vols Embrace High Expectations at SEC Media Days

Plenty of buzz around Tennessee this time around at SEC Media Days.
The Vols are the likely favorites to win their first Eastern division title since 2007.
News 12 Now’s Jamal Williams has more on how Tennessee is handing everyone’s sky-high predictions.
Said Williams-“Day two of SEC media days here in Hoover, Alabama, is all but in the books. The Vols took to the podium today fielding a plethora of questions about how players are going to deal with the expectations of this upcoming season.”
Said linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin-“We really haven’t won anything yet. We haven’t won an SEC Championship. We haven’t played in the playoffs. We haven’t won anything yet. We work still like we haven’t won anything. We don’t focus on preseason accolades.”
Said safety Cam Sutton-“I don’t really get caught up in all that. I don’t do all that talking. I’m about the business.”
Said quarterback Josh Dobbs-“It’s great to have those expectations because the main thing it shows you is how far Tennessee has come since we’ve been there, which is awesome to see. Our main thing is holding ourselves to a higher standard than anyone. If we’ll focus on one thing we can get better at daily, that will help us accomplish the big goal in the end.”
Said head coach Butch Jones-“You have to embrace the expectations because you want to be in a program that’s relevant. That’s why you come to the University of Tennessee. That’s why you coach at the University of Tennessee. You want those expectations. But that’s no more nor less, it’s what you do with them.”
Said Sutton-“When the time comes, we’ll be ready to go. Really just concerning ourselves with who our opponent is that week, and then when that time presents itself, just be ready to go for that game.”
Said Reeves Maybin-“Swagger never left. We might have lost a couple of games or had some losing seasons, but the swagger never left.”
