Teenage motorcyclist killed in Polk County crash

BENTON, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that a teenager was killed in a motorcyle crash on Highway 411 on Wednesday.

The victim was 19 year old Colby t. Smith of Cleveland.

Troopers say both he and a pickup were heading north.

The pickup, in the left lane, merged right to make a turn on Grove Road, and collided with the fast-moving motorcycle.

The report says the motorcyclist hit the road and then a road sign.

The Cleveland Daily Banner reports this is the second deadly motorcycle crash in Polk County in the last week.
