Chattanooga Firefighters burned while battling a blaze in Valleybrook

HIXSON, Tennessee (WDEF) – An empty home in the Valleybrook Community in Hixson went up in flames early Thursday morning.

The home had been vacant since the elderly residents died a few months ago.

Chattanooga Firefighters got the call at the home on Baltusrol and Masters Road around 5:30 AM.

But by the time they got there, it was a lost cause.

Two firefighters were injured on this fire.

They suffered first and second degree burns and were taken to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
