Authorities searching for suspect wanted in double homicide in Northeast Alabama
CENTRE, Ala. (AP) – Authorities are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a double homicide near Centre.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies found a man and woman dead in the Tennala community south of Centre on Sunday afternoon. There were multiple shell casings at the scene.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver says authorities are seeking Jeffrey Wilcox Jr., who they believe left the home with his wife against her will. Authorities say the two left in a red 2011 Chevrolet Silverado truck.
The Calhoun Co. license plate number is 11FR476.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
Sheriff Shaver asks if anyone sees the suspect to immediately call 911.
