Domestic dispute leads police to man indicted on narcotics charges

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF) – A call to 911 about a domestic assault leads Chattanooga Police to a man who had been wanted after he was indicted on narcotics charges.

Andre Boyd, 46, of Chattanooga was taken into custody on Friday after police say he physically assaulted his girlfriend.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by News 12, it happened at an apartment in the 6200 block Airport Drive.

When police arrived on scene, they noticed the victim had injuries to her face. She told the officer that Boyd punched her in the face two times after she threatened to leave.

An eyewitness told police Boyd was the attacker while other people at the scene who did not witness the alleged attack told officers the victim lies and causes drama.

Police arrested Boyd based on statements from both the victim and the eyewitness.

Boyd was charged with domestic assault but a background check revealed that he had been indicted on narcotics charges.

Boyd is now facing charges that include:

  • Sell of Cocaine
  • Delivering Cocaine
  • Domestic Assault
