Lookouts Shut Out For Second Straight Night Falling 3-0 to Jacksonville

(lookouts.com) The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped the final game of their series against the Jacksonville Suns, 3-0. The team’s loss was their second straight shutout defeat, and they now move to 58-57 on the season.

Lookouts starting pitcher Felix Jorge was the tough-luck loser for the home team, going 6.2 strong innings. The righty only allowed three runs in his outing while striking out two. After shutting down the Suns for the first five innings Jorge gave up his first run in the sixth on a homer by Ronnie Mitchell.

In the seventh Jacksonville increased its lead to three on a bases clearing triple by Kenny Wilson.

Chattanooga’s relievers, Zack Jones and Jake Reed, combined for 2.1 shutout innings and four strikeouts in the loss.

After an off day tomorrow the Lookouts aim to rebound against the division rival Birmingham Barons on Thursday. The team returns home for their second to last homestand of the year on Thursday, August 17.
