Generals Beat Lookouts Top Pitcher in 9-3 Victory Over Chattanooga
(lookouts.com) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Victor Reyes, Vladimir Frias and Marty Herum each had three hits, as the Jackson Generals beat the Chattanooga Lookouts 9-3 on Monday.
Reyes doubled twice and singled, scoring two runs. Frias singled three times, scoring two runs.
Jackson started the scoring in the first inning. After leading off the inning with a single, Emilio Bonifacio scored on a double by Reyes.
After Jackson added five runs, the Lookouts cut into the deficit in the fourth inning when Levi Michael scored on an error and Max Murphy hit a two-run triple.
Jackson left-hander Alex Young (8-6) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on four hits over six innings. Opposing starter Fernando Romero (11-7) took the loss in the Southern League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and nine hits over five innings.
Romero entered the game with the lowest ERA in the Southern League at 2.60.
