Cleveland State Community College Celebrates 50 Years and New Campaign
Cleveland State Community College is celebrating a tremendous milestone, 50 years of service and education for thousands of students.
The school is also kicking off their new campaign, “Community First.”
“Very excited to announcement Cleveland States Community First Campaign…which seeks to raise $15 million”, said President Dr. Bill Seymour.
Two thirds of that money will go towards improvements throughout the campus.
“The $10 million will allow us to leverage state funds for doing major renovations and a new facility on this campus. “Cleveland State has not done a great job, frankly, in the past of upgrading its facilities. We haven’t had a new classroom building in over 40 years,” said Dr. Seymour.
The funds will allow the school to be better equipped and broaden students’ education.
Dr. Seymour said this would not be possible without donors.
“We’re talking with major donors. We’re looking for small donations from alumni that really is a comprehensive approach.”
Dr. Seymour said the school is already making headway towards their goal.
“We’re already over $3 million dollars, successfully achieved in our first year. We’re on track to make it by 2020.”
