Deputies shoot and kill suspect at campground in Hohenwald
HOHENWALD, Tennessee (WDEF) – The TBI releases information on an officer involved shooting Monday night in Middle Tennessee.
It happened at the Thousand Trails campground in Hohenwald, which is southwest of Nashville.
A woman called police saying she had been in a fight with her travelling companion, who was armed.
Two Lewis County deputies responded to the scene around 10:30 PM.
TBI agents say the deputies ordered the man to drop a weapon, but he refused.
One officer fired, killing the suspect.
“The TBI acts as independent fact-finders in these investigations and any determination as to whether the officer’s actions were justified will be made by the District Attorney General’s office.”
