Lookouts Win Game One of Divisional Playoff Series Against Biscuits
(lookouts.com) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — LaMonte Wade hit a two-run single in the first inning, leading the Chattanooga Lookouts to a 4-3 win over the Montgomery Biscuits on Wednesday.
Gabriel Moya allowed a run, but got Jake Cronenworth to ground out with a runner on third to end the game for his 25th save of the season.
The single by Wade, part of a three-run inning, gave the Lookouts a 2-1 lead before Andy Wilkins hit an RBI single later in the inning.
The Lookouts tacked on another run in the fourth when T.J. White hit a solo home run.
Montgomery saw its comeback attempt come up short after Brett Sullivan hit an RBI single in the sixth inning before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Joe McCarthy in the ninth to cut the Chattanooga lead to 4-3.
Chattanooga right-hander Zack Littell (6-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on just three hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Jose Mujica (13-9) took the loss in the Southern League game after allowing four runs and eight hits over six innings.
Sullivan singled twice, driving in a run and also scoring one for the Biscuits.
With the win, Chattanooga improved to 21-5 against Montgomery this season.
