Wacker chemical leak contained without EMA help

CHARLESTON, Tenn. (WDEF) Authorities report a chemical leak this morning at the Wacker Plant in Bradley County, near Walker Valley.

Officials say a faulty gasket was to blame, and plant personnel were able to fix it.

However, workers did temporarily shelter in place as a precaution.

The spill was detected around 7:30 in a distillation tower.

Officials say no one was in any danger.
