10 AM Update on Falling Water Fire
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tennessee – Hamilton County Emergency Management reports that firefighters have had to re-organize this morning to fight the on-going wildfire on the side of Signal Mountain above the Falling Water community.
New fires have jumped the fire breaks this morning after crews had it contained Sunday night.
They blame high winds and dry woods for spreading the fire.
So now they have two commands, one for Mountain Operations and one for Valley Operations.
Several agencies have been in the woods all morning long, as new manpower and equipment are rolling into Falling Water below.
The Tennessee Forestry Division is providing a helicopter to drop water on the fires.
Fire officials are also asking residents on Rocky Ledge Drive to keep a watchful eye on their backyards for flying embers.
Roberts Mill Road will remain closed until further notice.
EMS spokesperson Amy Maxwell took these photos from the fire zone.
