Youth Blast conference held in Chattanooga
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Some Chattanooga residents are reaching out to area youth.
Teenagers from across the Tennessee Valley attended a Youth Blast conference this weekend.
The event for 6th through 12th graders was created to prepare these students for life events.
Students attended sessions on social media, bullying, and financial literacy.
They also got a chance to network with area organizations that offer after school programs and tutoring.
“We like to supplement what they’re getting at school, what they’re getting at home. It’s so important for them to hear from people in the community who have been where they have been, who have graduated from the schools that they go to. Lots of us here are Chattanooga natives. We’ve lived here all our lives, and we have, we just want to be able to give back to them,” says Jade Dodds with Youth Blast.
Workshops were offered for parents, as well.
