Local sorority holds chili cookout to benefit Make-a-Wish

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  UTC’s Chi Omega chapter held a chili cookout at the Lookout’s stadium Sunday to support the Make-a-Wish foundation.

With all the toppings, people could purchase a bowl of chili knowing those funds would go towards making a child’s wish come true.

Savannah Marshall, the sorority’s Director of Community Service, says they aim to raise $30,000 – $40,000 every year.

“It’s a lot of work but we get to work hands on with the make a wish kids and we are thankful for every minute of it,” Marshall says.

Other school’s came out and participated in a chili hot dog eating contest as well.
