Police report: suspect ran over the body he drug out of a Lookout Valley motel room

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – We have more information tonight on the case of the body found at a Lookout Valley hotel on Thursday.

Police charged Dontel Taylor with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

But the police report offers more details.

Police say they have video showing Taylor trying to load a wrapped body in the trunk of his car.

He failed and left it in the parking lot.

But they say he ran over the body before driving off.

“During a post-Miranda interview, Taylor admitted to going to the hotel today, dragging the victim from the room to the parking lot.  Taylor also stated he remembered feeling the bumps when he ran over her body.”

Police have also added a new drug charge against Taylor after they say he tried to smuggle some marijuana into the jail.
