Restaurant Chain Raising Money for Veterans

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A local restaurant chain is raising money to help area veterans.

Mellow Mushroom’s two Chattanooga locations are donating 10 percent of their sales Friday to benefit Rolling Thunder.

The POW/MIA advocacy group helps area veterans with their needs.

Group members say this fundraiser means a lot to them.

“Even though we are a small group, we still do quite a bit throughout the year, whether we’re supporting funerals for veterans, repatriation of remains that return, and we use a good bit of funding to supporting that, as well as just to run the organization,” said Joe Duncan, Rolling Thunder.

Friday’s give-back event runs through midnight.

It includes dine-in, carry out, and bar sales.
