Monroe Co. Constable charged with claiming he was a deputy & ATF agent
MADISONVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – A constable for Monroe County has been indicted on charges of passing himself off as something else.
The charges are official misconduct and oppression.
The accusation investigated by TBI agents is that Derek Sircy passed himself off as a Macon County sheriff’s deputy and and ATF agent there.
And investigators say he used his constable powers in Monroe County outside his jurisdiction.
Sircy has been indicted in Macon County, which is near the Kentucky border northeast of Nashville.
He was officially arrested there on Thursday.
