Public Safety Walk Brings Out Large Crowd

Chattanooga residents took their concern about crime to the streets.
They joined together in a Public Safety Walk as a way of standing up to the recent spike in violence.
Several Police officers, Chief Fred Fletcher, and Mayor Andy Berke took part in the walk.
They walked several blocks around the Highland Park neighborhood.
"If we’re going to make our streets safer then everyone has to be involved, not just police officers, not just public officials, but every day citizens who want to claim control of their streets," said Mayor Berke.
This was the summer’s first community walk. Mayor Berke and Chief Fletcher encourage there to be others.
