Luke Jackson, Jr. pleads guilty to strangulation in 2019

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Luke Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty for a murder in in 2019 today in court.

In March of 2019, officials could not immediately figure out how Starlin Fike died at his home on Hunt Avenue near the Eastgate Town Center.

But the Medical Examiner ruled he was strangled and it was a homicide.

At the time, 42 year old Luke Jackson, Jr. called 911 saying his boyfriend was not responsive and he had advanced Parkinson’s Disease.

He told the responding officers that Fike had attacked him and he had to restrain him.

Police investigators found signs of a disorder at the pool house where the murder took place.

They charged Jackson with Criminal Homicide.

Today, he agreed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

He was sentenced to 15 years in state prison in the plea deal.
