Red Cross opens resource center in Athens after tornado
ATHENS, Tenn. (WDEF) — On Tuesday, the American Red Cross partnered with local organizations to open a Multi-Agency Resource Center for survivors of last week’s tornado.
The center is located at 276 Dennis Street in Athens and is open 10am-5pm.
According to the Red Cross, the center will have English and Spanish-speaking cases workers to help residents create personalized recovery plans, navigate paperwork, and locate assistance. The center will also have representatives from Tennessee government, nonprofits, and religiously-affiliated relief organizations available.
The Red Cross says that residents applying for assistance need to bring identification with an address and proof of residence.
