Stolen boats recovered on Sand Mountain

BRYANT, Alabama (WDEF) – Investigators recover some boats that were stolen in Hamilton County on Sand Mountain.

A Jackson County investigator was following up on a case in Bryant when he noticed the suspicious boats on County Road 489.

They matched the description of several stolen in Hamilton County.

During a search of the property, officers recovered a 2004 Ranger Boat and 2012 Triton Boat along with their trailers.

They also recovered a 2016 Honda Rancher 4×4 ATV which was reported stolen in DeKalb County, Alabama.

They put a value on the items at $125,000.

The investigators are also looking into a third boat that was registered to Aaron Ray Taylor, but had its ID number obscured.

They also impounded other property including fishing rods, tackle boxes and propellers.

Taylor has been charged with three counts of Receiving Stolen Property and four counts of Obscuring a Vehicle Identification Number, so far.
