Chickamauga’s 52nd annual Down Home Days Festival

CHICKAMAUGA, Ga. (WDEF) – Down Home Days Festival returned to Chickamauga today for its 52nd year of celebrating community traditions and local entertainment.

The annual festival featured live music, food vendors, family activities, a KidZone, and entertainment throughout the day, drawing community members and visitors to downtown Chickamauga.

Residents said the festival continues to be one of Chickamauga’s longest-running community traditions, bringing people together year after year.

Tim Miller reflected on the welcoming atmosphere that first drew him to the area.

“I was a deputy sheriff back in Missouri, and I moved down here in ’15,” Miller explained. “I’ve made so many friends. It’s a wonderful community, and every function that we have here in Chickamauga is always so heartwarming. When people come together, it’s so much like Mayberry.”

Throughout the evening, festivities continued with the Music at the Mansion concert series, featuring performances by Neon Moon, Brandon Davis, and Rosewood Grips.

Organizers and attendees said events like Down Home Days continue to highlight the strong sense of community that keeps families returning to Chickamauga year after year.
