Police investigating early morning shooting on Grove Street

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police were called to the intersection of MLK Blvd and Pine Street on a report of a person shot.

The call came in around midnight Wednesday morning.

Chattanooga Police identified the victim as 22-year-old Jerrian Besley.

Chattanooga Police say that the victim told them a man with a gun approached him while he was in the 1200 block of Grove Street.

According to police, the victim says he was shot while running away from the man.

Police say the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Violent Crimes Bureau is investigating.
