McCaysville still under a boil water advisory

MCCAYSVILLE, Georgia (WDEF) – The city of McCaysville remains on a boil water advisory, even though the deep freeze is over.

The city issued the advisory and asked customers to conserve water last Friday because of frozen pipes.

Now they are unable to pump water from the city.

And officials are having a hard time finding someone to haul it for them.

McCaysville’s water dilemma is nothing new.

Last fall, they issued another conservation advisory because of a filter problem.

Ironically, the city of Copperhill, just across the Toccoa River in Tennessee, is just fine.

McCaysville officials don’t know how long the current advisory will last.

“This is a very frustrating situation, and we hope to get this under control soon.”
