Live Streamed Attempted Rape Suspects appear before judge

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Two people went before a judge today in the case of an attempted rape that was live-streamed on Facebook in Chattanooga.

This incident happened last summer. The pair appeared side by side in a Hamilton County courtroom Friday morning.

Sherman Hubbard is charged with attempted rape. Hubbard waived his right to a hearing.

Tyasiza Roberson was charged with Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a minor and also chose to waive this hearing. She was arrested after police were told that she live-streamed the attempted Rape to Facebook

The prosecutor explained to me that this happens for various reasons… in many cases, the attorney’s have done their due diligence to present their clients with the evidence in the case and they don’t feel the need to sit through it again.

Both cases are headed to a higher level court.

Last year, Roberson plead guilty to a theft of property and contribution to the delinquency of a minor charge in another case and is currently serving a sentence for those charges.

Hubbard is out on bond and both of them are waiting for another court date to be set.
