Circus Shot From Mocs Greg Pryor Highlights Blow Out Win Over Greensboro
Chattanooga-(WDEF) After losing to UNC Greensboro earlier this season, the Mocs basketball team was more than ready for the Roundhouse rematch on Thursday.
The Mocs built a 40 point lead in the second half before winning 91-68 to snap their two game losing streak.
In a game full of Mocs highlights, the big one came with about eight minutes to play in the second half.
Mocs guard Greg Pryor knocked the ball loose from the Spartans Marvin Smith on the Mocs end of the floor at the foul line.
He was chasing the ball before it went out-of-bounds in front of the UTC bench.
Pryor’s momentum was carrying him out-of-bounds when he corralled the ball, so he just turned and fired up a 3-pointer that splashed in.
McKenzie Arena went nuts. Pryor finished with 13 points.
Tre’ McLean led UTC with 20 points, while Justin Tuoyo added 19 points and nine rebounds.
With the win, the Mocs (16-6, 7-3) move passed the Spartans (16-8, 7-4) for third place in the Southern Conference standings, a game behind co-leaders East Tennessee State and Furman.
The Mocs lead never dropped below double digits after the first eight minutes. They were up 16 at halftime.
RJ White and James Dickey had 11 points each and Kyrin Galloway added 10 for the Spartans, who lost their third straight following a six-game winning streak.
Chattanooga made 35 of 63 from the field, including 11 of 20 from 3-point range, and 10 of 13 at the foul line.
