Local lawyer suspended by Tennessee Supreme Court
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Supreme Court of Tennessee has suspended Hamilton County attorney Lisa Zarzour Bowman from practicing law for more than a year.
In 2016, a client filed a complaint alleging a lack of diligence and incompetent representation.
Now after a hearing and 17 months of deliberation, a Hearing Board found Bowman guilty of three conduct violations.
They say she failed to tell her client about changes to a final divorce decree, filed the final decree she negotiated with the husband without the approval of her client, the wife, and then not filing documents with the court that was hearing the complaint over a 15 month period.
She will not be allowed to practice law again until getting reinstatement from the Supreme Court.
Zarzour Bowman has served as a special judge in both City and General Sessions Court.
She also has run for Circuit Court Clerk.
