Economist Speaks to Chattanooga Realtors and Home Builders

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – More than a hundred realtors came out to hear and learn from a popular economist.

Doctor Lawrence Yun spoke to realtors and home builders Tuesday afternoon in Chattanooga.

Yun says it’s a buyer’s market.

He also says you’re going to see more people building and buying because of the new Volkswagen expansion.

Yun also predicts the average price of a house will be going up.

Yun, Chief Economist with National Association of Realtors, adds, "We have had a nice two years of housing market recovery, with more buyers coming in, prices beginning to firm up, but the early part of this year we hit a soft spot. So, sales were slower compared to one year before, but now we are beginning to see the buyers steadily returning back to the market."

Yun believes the second half of this year will be better than last year.
