Hixson High rape investigation re-opened

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Hamilton County has re-opened a rape investigation at Hixson High School.

The allegation was relayed to the faculty last week and then the school resource officer.

Child Protective Services and Hamilton County investigators looked into the case.

The SRO spoke with the custodial parent and the victim and was told that neither wanted the case prosecuted.

So investigators dropped the case.

Then the District Attorney’s office also looked it over.

Finally, a family member of the victim shared new information with detectives this morning.

So Hamilton County has re-opened the investigation.

“HCSO Investigators will work with the District Attorney’s Office as the investigation moves forward.”

They are not releasing any other information on the allegations at this point.
