Silverdale escapee caught after a year of freedom

SODDY DAISY, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Silverdale inmate who escaped more than a year ago, has been captured.

Soddy-Daisy police arrested 40-year-old Gary Minton after pulling him over for a traffic violation.

A background check revealed an arrest warrant.

Minton escaped from Silverdale in 2015 while on trash duty.

He took off into a wooded area.
