ELLIJAY, Georgia (WDEF) – Donald Trump wasn’t the first politician to build a campaign on putting America First.

25 years ago, conservative Pat Buchanan brought his challenge to George H. Bush to the north Georgia Mountains.

And you’ll see that many of the same issues he raised then, helped get President Trump elected now.

Of course, they didn’t work for Buchanan, who lost the 1992 primary.

Meanwhile, Poole’s Barbecue is still turning out prime pig in the mountains and trumpeting conservative politics.
