Ft. Payne looking for suspects who are shooting dogs with arrows

FORT PAYNE, Alabama (WDEF) – Fort Payne Police are looking for whoever seems to be shooting dogs in the area with a bow and arrow.

Graphic photos have been circulating on Facebook of the dogs with arrows in them (We elected not to show the images).

One shows a dead dog and the other was shot in the leg and stomach, but still alive.

But investigators complain that no one actually reported the crime to police.

They were finally tipped by the Times Journal late Wednesday.

They have recovered the arrow bolts from a veterinarian, but the dog owners still have not called police.

“Every hour that passes after a crime takes place makes it more difficult for investigators to back track and work.”

Still they have found where it happened and where the arrow bolts were sold.

If you have any information pertaining to this crime or if you are the owner of one of these dogs please contact us ASAP and ask to speak to a investigator, 256-845-1414.

If you don’t mind graphic images of the shot dogs, you can see the post here.
