McMinn inmate charged with sending another prisoner to the hospital

ATHENS, Tennessee (WDEF) – A jail cell fight has sent one man to the hospital and landed new charges against another.

It happened at the McMinn County Jail last weekend.

TBI investigators say Jerrod Ivan Jones assaulted the other inmate, who is from Hixson.

The victim is now in serious condition at the hospital.

Jones faces a charge of aggravated assault.
